Data is often referred to as the “gold” of the 21st century and it is observed that there is a continuous battle in the world about who owns, who can control and who can view data. Both academics and practitioners seem to agree that the next cold war is going to be digital and that data is going to play a big role: “Combatants in the new Cold War are fighting over the currency of the modern age: personal information. The battles are over who controls data”(2). In response to this, the European Union (EU) introduced the Data Protection Regulation in 2018 to standardize data privacy regulations across all member states(3). However, in a day and age in which data is so important, it is not enough for the individual to sit by and let the large national and international organizations fight this fight and set the rules. For the individual, it is important to: 1) understand the value and importance of their digital information, 2) understand the vulnerabilities of (their personal) information systems and 3) take protective measures. At Bitegrity, we envision a world where people have the freedom and power to store and retrieve their essential information anywhere and at any time and where they are in control. We not only help people to understand the importance of (protecting) their data, but also offer a tangible and user-friendly solution to store and retrieve their most important data without giving control to a centralized party. Rather, we give our customers the central point of control. Customers who make use of our platform will be able to upload their most valuable personal data, and be able to retrieve it at any time and from any place, as long as they have access to the internet. Furthermore, our solution substantially reduces the time it takes to share authenticated data. Customers of Bitegrity do not need to maintain cryptocurrency, private keys or network nodes. Rather, clients deposit fiat currency into their accounts and pay us every time they upload data to the blockchain through Bitegrity. Our team exist of major influencers from the blockchain world; in regulation, customer centricity expertise and data-science. From an investor point of view Bitegrity is very interesting. We aim to make double digits turnover within a year after going live. We think this is possible because Bitegrity has a first-mover-advantage and is easily scalable for a global rollout.
